| Leveling Equivalent Chart |
Most of our classroom books are leveled by Fountas and Pinnell. This includes all the guided reading trade books we use during small group. I use Fountas and Pinnell as it is the most comprehensive leveling system I know of. Included are the traditional grade equivalents and DRA which I will be using this year for reading assessment. Most counties that set a benchmark goal set "S" as the mid AND end-of-year goal for 4th grade, focusing more on comprehension than increasing reading level.
