I was introduced to geo-caching when I was a Fulbright Memorial Fund participant in Japan in 2006. People around the world use a GPS navigator, a compass, and search www.geocaching.com for hidden "treasure" spots around the world. The premise is simple- find the hidden treasure (usually a water tight container wrapped in camo tape) in the trees, under a rock, etc. Open it up, sign the log, take an item and put an item of your own in. There are many spots in Murfreesboro, but soon we will be playing around with our class GPS navigator. Our plan? Spots will be placed around the playground. Use your latitude and longitude information we've learned (including minutes and seconds like above) to find the Bunyi treasure during recess! Come back soon to see some pictures and learn more about this exciting adventure! |
